My Plea to AT&T for Help
Do you ever feel like a sex toy with a low battery… toyed with and agitated again and with little energy to fight back? Follow-up to last week’s period, but no response yet from anyone at AT&T, except Samantha in W-VA who corrected my bill. Thanks Samantha. Picture credits to “CanStockPhoto.Com”
Today is my Period and I need your help
Today (Wednesday) is my period. I call it my “period” because I have to endure this torture every month. Fortunately, it only lasted about 7 hours this time and just when I thought it was over, all systems ceased to function. I guess I should explain this situation further, so please read on.
I have AT&T U-Verse for my Internet, Television, Landline & Wireless service. American Telephone & Telegraph was once the World’s largest and best known company. Now I consider AT&T to be “Atrocious, Tenacious & Terrible.” I used 0.07 GB Data last month (7% of their lowest category, had 55 texts, and probably watched 4 or 5 channels on TV for a total of 30 to 40 hours and spent an equal time on the Internet at low speed. My bill was $ 304.51. This is a little over $100 more than the promised price quoted when I talked with AT&T CEO, Randell Stephenson’s staff a few months ago.
I called AT&T’s Customer Service number, 800-288-2020, and I and waited… and waited… and waited, gave my “secret codes,” etc 3 times, and finally spoke with Shawanda for a half hour. She then transferred me to Sandtasia and I gave her more information for the next 45 minutes. Both said they could not help me because, once it is in the almighty computer, she could not correct it. I told both of them that was BS, but lost that battle.
Finally I called the executive offices and was transferred to a very nice lady named Samantha in the West Virginia Call Center. Samantha, listened and then told me there was a mistake and she corrected it, reduced my bill and was explaining it when the damn U-Verse went down. No computer, not landline, no television, but my cell phone still worked.
I called 611, and spoke with Danielle, who then transferred me to Von in the Philippines. I told Von that I had gone through the start-up/reset procedures. He checked and said it was an “outside” problem, the cable leading to the box at the edge of my property and scheduled a technician to, once again, try to solve the problem. So far I’ve had 7 service calls with 11 techs in the last few weeks.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Now, it is Friday, June 2, 2 days later, and I could not post this until minutes ago when my service was restored. Two technicians spent all day “fixing” the problem… hopefully. Now I ask you, if you had your dog “fixed” and he sired pups with your neighbor’s bitch, would you consider it a “fix?” That is sort of the way I feel about my AT&T U-Verse system. To “fix” the problem, I may have to “cut” my losses and move on to another Service. Any suggestions?
Have any or you tried calling the “telephone” company, AT&T recently? What was your success rate? How many of you got transferred to someone who would “Help” you and then just got disconnected. The help promised never came. Are you as frustrated as I am?
So, why did I post this? I know, I’ve told you more than you ever wanted to know, but I’m PO’d. I thought that maybe IF others… my Facebook friends, are having similar problems with good olé AT&T, maybe if a few hundred of you, or if you share, maybe a few thousand will write or call the AT&T Executives Offices, just maybe they will get the ideal that they need to shape up their performance and service. If you have problems with AT&T also, or are willing to help me, I suggest you call or write to one of the following:
Randall L. Stephenson, Chairman & CEO of AT&T;
Thaddeus Arroyo, CEO of Business Solutions;
Ms Lori Lee, Sr Executive VP of Global Marketing;
or David R. McAtee, Sr Executive VP & General Council.
All are at AT&T Corp Offices & Headquarters, 208 S. Akard Street, Dallas, TX 75202. Telephone: 210-821-4105. Corporate Email: firstname.lastname@example.org. Please call, email or write them and just maybe… together, we can get their attention and make a positive impact and get service back.
Thanks for reading, sharing and your help? And thanks to Samantha is West Virginia. At least my bill is “fixed” this month…. I hope. Thank you.

Memorial Day is a day for remembering the ~850,000 soldiers who have been killed in combat defending our freedom and way of life. We Americans joyfully wish each other “Merry Christmas,” and “Happy New Year,” but what do we say on Memorial Day? I think it’s a day to remember those who gave their lives and to be thankful for them and for their families who have suffered. I think we should never forget the sacrifice they made so that the liberties and principals upon which our Nation were founded and the opportunities, peace and prosperity, that we now often take for granted, are sustained.
May God bless America, our Military and all worthy people everywhere, and may He guide our leaders, to do what is right for We The People, not just for themselves, so that we may become the proud Nation we once were. Each stone in the photo below is for a brave person who made the ultimate sacrifice for us so that we might live in peace. Let’s give it try and do our best to return peace and greater happiness to our great Nation. Thanks for reading this.
To Attack or Not to Attack
For those who think that President Trump should have sought approval of Congress before the retaliatory attack in Syria, don’t you think that might be like Delaying Scolding your dog for several months after he pees on the carpet?
Beware: Today’s Knews
Our #1 Knews Today: With “Climate Change” still a major concern, scientists are working feverishly to perfect a new sub-species or breed of fish. The fish are called “Silver Surfers” because they are primarily “surface dwellers” living on algae and other surface floating material and their silver backs and sides will reflect enough of the Sun’s radiation to help cool the ocean waters and thereby reduce further climate increasing temperatures. See Photo of Silver Surfers Below.
The 2nd: President Trump and his Administration plan to reject proposals by Democrats in Congress and “Obama hold-overs,” who still dominate the “non-elected second layer of bureaucracy” to make all cities with population over a million “sanctuary cities,’ and to afford all “full rights of citizenry” upon registration.
And #3: Regarding the increasing influx of Mexicans and Central Americans across our border, a proposal to fund and build, what is being called the Radiation Obstruction Technique (ROT), may be considered. Transmitting towers would be installed which would emit a classified radiation component which would… in short, turn a person’s skin bright red with some irritation and prompt them to seek medical help, and of course, make them easy to identify and be apprehended by immigration officials. Obama had originally considered this option, but rejected it as it kept potential voters out during an election year.
A 4th proposal, similar to that unveiled last year by Maine’s Governor is now being considered in several other red states. The proposal to reform the Welfare and Food Stamp Program to eliminate fraud and ensure that those recipients who are able to work do so, either by working on government assigned tasks or training to acquire work related skills to survive without government assistance in the future. If approved, the program will commence June 31st. The programs would be similar to the WPA, CCC, etc. created by FDR during the Great Depression which helped get America back to work and free from depression.
Yet a 5th proposal fostered by several universities and think tanks is to begin to study and nurture the evolution of the human body for eventual assimilation and survival on sea water as the World’s supply of fresh water is rapidly diminishing. If Mankind can survive on salt water, it will save trillions of dollars in desalination and distribution.
A 6th proposal, a hold-over from the Obama regime, is consideration of a new “Health Care Tax,” being called “LOST” (Lose Overweight & Save Tax), would be based on a person’s BMI. All Obama Care insured, and eventually all will be required to be examined and cary a “BMI Card,” which will be presented every time food or drink is purchased in a store or restaurant, and a tax as a percentage will be imposed on food purchases. For example, a 5’9” man weighing 200 pounds would have a BMI of 29.5 and have no surcharge, but a man 5’9” weighing 220 pounds would have a BMI of 32.5 and be 2.5 points over the line for obesity and be assessed a 2.5% additional tax on all food purchases. This will be a great incentive for overweight persons (BMI 25 to 29.9) and obese persons (BMI of 30 or more) to eat less, exercise more, lose weight and be healthier.
A 7th and more drastic and certainly more controversial plan is to begin sterilizing all rapists immediately upon conviction and all men after fathering 3 or more children and women after giving birth to three of more children. The USA population is increasing at the rate of 30 million every 10 years and the World population by one billion every 10 years and this is not sustainable long-term. There is also consideration of requiring a permit before having a child and imposing a tax thereupon. The problem is, what to do with violators.
A 8th idea may seem strange but is logical… sort of logical. Swiss Cheese has air bubbles (holes) in it and therefore is less dense that other cheeses, so a pound of Swiss cheese takes up more space and requires a larger wrapper than does other cheeses. Therefore, cheese makers are suggesting that Swiss Cheese be sold by the cubic inch or cubic centimeter instead of by the pound or kilo. This makes it competitive with other more solid cheeses.
Oh, and then there is lucky number 9, which is a really “foreign” idea. Many people who eat at Chinese restaurants use the numbers in Fortune Cookies to play the lottery. China now wants to collect a fee or royalty whenever a number on a fortune cookie turns out to be the winning lottery number. They think 10% seems like a fair amount.
And finally, lets end with a perfect 10. Hasn’t it been terrific to have had such an inciteful leader for the past 8 years with such a transparent Agenda? Let’s give credit (or blame) where it is due: President Obama kept one of his promises. He promised to “change” America and he has certainly done that. He knows that these changes will endure for decades to come. He is a happy man, but he knows now that he will not be nominated to the Supreme Court, so has instead started his campaign for presidency of the UN, and change it into his “image” of a new world government.
Now that “Today’s Knews” is back in business, keep following us on Jeffress.Com, Facebook and Twitter… and HAPPY APRIL FOOLS DAY to all, and don’t forget to Beware of Today’s Knews.
Did Your Team Win Or Lose Today?
Today was a great day… for the News Media. They were ecstatic! It will go down as the highlight of the year thus far. The “Great Promise” was not fulfilled…. First by Obama, and now by Trump. It doesn’t make much difference whether you rooted for the Blue Team or the Red Team. In reality, you both lost. Your esteemed leaders who represent you and me in Washington, DC; Their pay and their government insurance didn’t change and won’t because they don’t play by the same rules they impose on you and me. They may be overjoyed or disappointed by today’s vote, but they personally didn’t lose a thing. They are the privileged elite and they rule at your expense and at your pleasure. Wait!… Did I say at your pleasure? $#!+… are you pleased? Or, maybe you will find others next election who just might serve your needs and those of the rest of us Americas better in the future.
The day YOU and I and a 160 million others insist that our elected leaders live and play buy the same rules and have the same programs, insurance, etc., as they impose on We The People we, will have a far better life. We simple, politically correct people, brainwashed into obedience, may someday wake up and demand a fare shake from our employees, those sworn to serve us… We may then have a better life, affordable insurance, lower costs, more efficient and effective government and therefor, lower taxes. We might even enjoy less stress from not having our strings jerked by the puppeteers we chose to lead us.
You may ask, what the hell do I know about it? Well, I once worked for the U.S.Senate and enjoyed the government insurance. Those were the good old days. When our oldest son was born, our total doctor, hospital and related bills that I was required to pay was $4.00, and that was because my wife had a TV in her room so that we could watch Neil Armstrong walk on the Moon. All other costs were paid. Thank you Uncle Sam… eh… I mean thank you taxpayers. Now the average birth related costs are a thousand times that much… about $4,000.00 total. But a pair of rubber gloves is billed at $ 8 to 12 dollars in the hospital but you can buy a pack of 100 equal quality gloves at Walmart, CVS or many other pharmacies for $8 to 12 dollars. I think that is ridiculous.
Obamascare… the “Affordable Health Care Act”, is a disaster… on life-support and will soon go comatose or just die in many areas as Health Insurance Companies decide to just “pull the plug.” The proposed bill that failed today was far from a good, equitable for all health care program. For those old enough to remember, this bill reminded me of the old joke from the 1950’s about trying to mate a Henry J Kaiser with an Edsel. Fortunately, we have moved on in car design, and just maybe we can move on and aspire, encourage, or demand that our elected leaders work together and work for us… We the People… preferably we legal Americans to resolve this issue and provide lower medical costs and truly affordable insurance. Wouldn’t that be great? If you have read this far…and you agree, why don’t you write to your employees in Washington, DC and remind them that they are sworn to serve YOU. Please, just do it.

Teach Me… Don’t Just Test Me
A Teacher / Mom Wrote An Eye Opening Letter for Resignation. Parents Everywhere STILL Freaking Out.
Teacher Wendy Bradshaw had an educators change of heart when she contemplated her new baby would pass through America’s educational system someday.
It caused her to speak out with her personal experience as a teacher about how terrible that system has become.
Bradshaw worked and specialized in younger children in Florida’s Polk County. She explains that the strict standardization from the higher grades is making its way down to touch even pre-schoolers.
It has become almost entirely test-based learning. This forces teachers into narrower and narrower teaching plans. It is not conducive to productive learning. We don’t teach for life anymore, we just teach to test. We don’t teach “the child” anymore, we just teach the prototype.
After sending in her letter of resignation, Bradshaw posted it on Facebook where it has now been shared 75,000 times. It is shared in articles to 10’s of millions. Parents and teachers everywhere are freaking out at the damage being done. Please read her letter of explanation and resignation below:
To: The School Board of Polk County, Florida
I love teaching. I love seeing my students’ eyes light up when they grasp a new concept and their bodies straighten with pride and satisfaction when they persevere and accomplish a personal goal. I love watching them practice being good citizens by working with their peers to puzzle out problems, negotiate roles, and share their experiences and understandings of the world. I wanted nothing more than to serve the students of this county, my home, by teaching students and preparing new teachers to teach students well.
To this end, I obtained my undergraduate, masters, and doctoral degrees in the field of education. I spent countless hours after school and on weekends poring over research so that I would know and be able to implement the most appropriate and effective methods with my students and encourage their learning and positive attitudes towards learning. I spent countless hours in my classroom conferencing with families and other teachers, reviewing data I collected, and reflecting on my practice so that I could design and differentiate instruction that would best meet the needs of my students each year.
I not only love teaching, I am excellent at it, even by the flawed metrics used up until this point. Every evaluation I received rated me as highly effective.Like many other teachers across the nation, I have become more and more disturbed by the misguided reforms taking place which are robbing my students of a developmentally appropriate education. Developmentally appropriate practice is the bedrock upon which early childhood education best practices are based, and has decades of empirical support behind it.
However, the new reforms not only disregard this research, they are actively forcing teachers to engage in practices which are not only ineffective but actively harmful to child development and the learning process. I am absolutely willing to back up these statements with literature from the research base, but I doubt it will be asked for. However, I must be honest.
This letter is also deeply personal. I just cannot justify making students cry anymore.
They cry with frustration as they are asked to attempt tasks well out of their zone of proximal development. They cry as their hands shake trying to use an antiquated computer mouse on a ten year old desktop computer which they have little experience with, as the computer lab is always closed for testing. Their shoulders slump with defeat as they are put in front of poorly written tests that they cannot read, but must attempt. Their eyes fill with tears as they hunt for letters they have only recently learned so that they can type in responses with little hands which are too small to span the keyboard.
The children don’t only cry.
Some misbehave so that they will be the ‘bad kid’ not the ‘stupid kid’, or because their little bodies just can’t sit quietly anymore, or because they don’t know the social rules of school and there is no time to teach them. My master’s degree work focused on behavior disorders, so I can say with confidence that it is not the children who are disordered.
The disorder is in the system which requires them to attempt curriculum and demonstrate behaviors far beyond what is appropriate for their age.
The disorder is in the system which bars teachers from differentiating instruction meaningfully, which threatens disciplinary action if they decide their students need a five minute break from a difficult concept, or to extend a lesson which is exceptionally engaging.
The disorder is in a system which has decided that students and teachers must be regimented to the minute and punished if they deviate.
The disorder is in the system which values the scores on wildly inappropriate assessments more than teaching students in a meaningful and research based manner.
On June 8, 2015 my life changed when I gave birth to my daughter. I remember cradling her in the hospital bed on our first night together and thinking, “In five years you will be in kindergarten and will go to school with me.” That thought should have brought me joy, but instead it brought dread. I will not subject my child to this disordered system, and I can no longer in good conscience be a part of it myself.
Please accept my resignation from Polk County Public Schools. Best,
Teacher Wendy Bradshaw, Ph.D.
